Police conduct raid of Sarangjeil church after officials refuse to submit list of church members and attendees at coronavirus rally

Police have launched a raid on Sarangjeil Church in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. 

On the 21st, the Intelligence Crime Investigation Unit of Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency began a search and seize of Sarangjeil at 8:50pm. The raid was aimed at securing a list of church members and attendees of Liberation Day rally that caused a mass outbreak of coronavirus in the area.

On the afternoon of the 20th, quarantine authorities attempted to enter Sarangjeil but met resistance from church members and overnight confrontation continued fore more than 10 hours. Onsite investigations ended without securing a list of church members. As a result, police have obtained a search warrant from the court and launched a forced investigation.
