Late Mayor Park Won Soon's victim A has revealed details behind the sexual assault.
His former secretary A that filed a complaint against Mayor Park Won Soon for sexual harassment, held a press conference in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 13th.
Lee Mi-kyung, Director of the Korea Sexual Violence Counseling Center stated, "Mayor Park Won Soon's assault of his secretary lasted four years. The victim asked to change departments but it was impossible because it needs approval from the mayor."
According to victim's statements read by Kim Hye Jung, the Vice President of the Counseling Center, secretary A wrote, "I should have reported it earlier. I wanted to ask him to stop what he was doing in the safety of court. I wanted to shout that I have gone through a very hard time. I wanted to forgive him. It took courage to file the complaint against him. But he took his own life. I never thought of death even when I was having a hard time because I would never want to hurt the people who love me. So, I was really disappointed. It's still hard to believe he's dead."
Secretary A's attorney Kim Jae Ryun stated, "He [mayor] invited the victim to a secret Telegram chat and continuously sent obscene text messages to the victim. He sexually harassed her and asked her to send him nude photos of her wearing only underwear. It was hard and painful time for her suffering in silence for such a long time."
She added, "There's even a time he forced a kiss on her bruised knee. He sexually assaulted her multiple times at the bedroom in the office and forced her to hug him."

Meanwhile, secretary A has been suffering "secondary damage" becoming the target of personal insults and abuse online, with people circulating unconfirmed information and photos of her. The secretary stated, "I have been in fear due to distortions of the truth and lots of speculation. My family and I are hoping to find safety in our lives again."
Her lawyer said an additional complaint was filed with the police earlier in the day over "secondary damage the victim has suffered," asking the police to punish those spreading unconfirmed rumors.
In the meantime, conference participants asked the government to reveal the truth behind the incident and not ignore the victim's allegations.

- [+7,785, -108] I can't believe they asked for five days of mourning for this sex criminal. Just because they can't indict because he committed suicide doesn't mean he's innocent. At this point what we need to worry more about is how the investigation will end. Launch a fact-finding team and reveal the real truth behind those Telegram texts. Actively collect evidence from netizens and investigate it. Check for more victims at City Hall.
